Why Embodied Stillness?

Most healing and therapeutic traditions treat the mind, energy, and physical body as separate domains. When we experience chronic stress, trauma, or subtle disconnection, our awareness contracts into habitual tension patterns. The healing modalities work on the different aspects of person. Most spiritual and therapeutic traditions treat the mind, energy, and physical body as separate domains. We begin to view the body as a fixed, mechanical object to be “fixed” or escape.

Embodied Stillness works with the ground of the person — the living awareness that underlies sensation, thought, and emotion. Rooted in the living synthesis of Trika, Siddha, Daoist inner alchemy, CranioSacral Work, and Ayurveda, this practice shifts your relationship with your body. Instead of trying to force the mind to be quiet or using effort to attain peace, you are guided to inhabit the internal space of the body directly—discovering that the body itself is an open, living field permeated by fundamental consciousness. Who is Embodied Stillness for?

When the ordinary approaches have reached their limit

In the language of the Nondual tradition, the following are recognized as symptoms of a loss of connection with the stillness that resides in the Heart. If one or more of these resonates, Embodied Stillness sessions may be for you.

Something feels “off”.
You eat well, rest enough, and your labs are unremarkable — yet you wake each day with a subtle sense of wrongness you cannot name or locate.

Unexplained fatigue.
The exhaustion is real but invisible. No supplement, superfood, or sleep protocol has touched it. The body is tired of fighting something it cannot identify.

Chronic dissatisfaction.
Life is outwardly full — relationships, accomplishments, comfort — yet beneath all of it there is a quiet numbness, a persistent sense that something essential is missing.

Background tension.
Massage, yoga, and meditation offer temporary relief, but the tension returns. You wake stiff. There is an underlying unease that no outer practice reaches.

Feeling stuck or frozen.
You push forward in work, relationships, and growth — and yet the same themes repeat. Change at the surface does not produce change at the root.

Disconnection from the body.
You live primarily in thought. The body feels like an object you carry rather than a field of living intelligence you inhabit. You are rarely, fully here.

Invisible illness.
Conditions such as Long COVID, chronic fatigue, MCAS, or autonomic dysregulation — where the systems appear intact but the felt sense of integration is absent.

Nervous system exhaustion.
Overwhelmed by chronic stress, where the body’s natural capacity to settle and self-regulate feels compromised.

The deeper search.
Something in you knows that the healing you are looking for is not symptomatic. You are ready to look at the source — not at what is wrong, but at what was never broken.

What is Embodied Stillness?

Embodied Stillness is a guided, direct-experience somatic session designed to bridge the gap between traditional clinical medicine and nondual realization. Embodied Stillness practice is companion to your healing journey, not a replacement for it. Embodied Stillness sessions are offered within the framework of Transformational Medicine as a complementary healing practice. They are not a substitute for Western medicine, psychotherapy, Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, CranioSacral therapy, or any other treatment you are currently receiving.

In the words of Transformational Medicine: medicine removes what awakening would otherwise have to work around. Embodied Stillness sessions work at the level of awareness and the subtle body — the dimension that most clinical treatments do not address, and which cannot address it by design.

Supporting Your Journey, Not Replacing Your Care

If you are currently under the care of a physician, therapist, or other healthcare provider, please continue that care. Embodied Stillness sessions are designed to complement — and deepen — whatever healing path you are already on. These sessions work alongside your current care, addressing the deeper ground from which physical, emotional, and existential imbalances arise.

Embodied Stillness sessions are designed to support, deepen, and complement your overall health and spiritual journey. They are NOT a substitute for conventional Western medical diagnosis, psychiatric care, traditional psychotherapy, or standard clinical treatments.

In alignment with the principles of Transformational Medicine, these sessions address the subtle, somatic, and psycho-spiritual dimensions of human distress—the unresolved energetic contractions and feelings of fragmentation that lie beyond standard diagnostic lab work.

  • If you are receiving care for a medical condition: Please continue working with your licensed physician or primary healthcare team.
  • Integration with Eastern Medicine: These practices work synergistically alongside clinical Acupuncture, Ayurveda, CranioSacral Therapy, and conventional treatments to clear the underlying energetic blockages that hinder natural recovery.

What to expect in an Embodied Stillness session

Each session is live, one-on-one, conducted via Zoom from wherever you are. The session is between 50 and 60 minutes. No prior meditation experience is required. The instructions are simple and will be personalized to where you are.

Every session is different. Sometimes the experience is profoundly quiet — a depth of rest unlike anything sleep provides. Sometimes long-held emotions surface as the system softens and releases what it has been carrying. Sometimes there is light, warmth, a felt sense of expansion, or a recognition that defies description. Occasionally there is restlessness, or frustration — which is itself information, and part of the process. There is no correct experience. The practice is not about becoming good at stillness. As the Siddha tradition says: we do not sit for inner work to get good at it — we sit to become fully alive.

Embodied Stillness sessions are well-suited for

  • Those already receiving conventional medical care who wish to address the deeper energetic and awareness dimensions of their condition
  • People in recovery — physical, emotional, or psychological — who have completed acute treatment and are now working on integration and resilience
  • Those living with chronic or invisible illness (fatigue, autoimmune, pain, nervous system dysregulation) where clinical workups show no clear cause
  • Practitioners, therapists, and healers who wish to deepen their own embodied awareness and self-resource capacity
  • Those working with a therapist or counselor who wish to complement that work with somatic and awareness-based practice
  • People on a contemplative or spiritual path who wish to ground their practice in the body rather than transcend it
  • Anyone who senses that what calls for healing is not a symptom but a deeper disconnection — from the body, from aliveness, from the self
